1971 - 1990

1970: He obtained, by competitive examination, the Chair of Orchestral Conducting at the Royal Higher Conservatory of Music of Madrid, thus becoming the first Chair of the subject at an official conservatory in the history of Spanish music.

1976: "The Charles Cros" Academy of Paris awarded a prize for a Zarzuela (Spanish Operetta) recording, sung by Teresa Berganza and performed by the ECO (English Chamber Orchestra).

1976-1980: He carried out interesting pedagogical and educational work presenting the Spanish television programme "The World of Music", acquiring a high level of popularity and audience engagement.

1985-1991: Musical Adviser and Main Guest Conductor of the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra.
