1950 - 1970

1959: He obtained the "Ataulfo Argenta" scholarship for studying orchestral conducting at the Higher School of Music in Munich (Germany). Later on he continued his studies at Chigiana Music Academy in Siena (Italy) with Maestro Sergíu Celibidache.

1962: Representing the Chigiana Music Academy and selected by the Maestro Celibidache, he won the Young Conductors Competition organised by the RAI (Italian Radio and Television).

1963: He won the prize for the "Best Student of the Year" of the Chigiana Academy, organised by the Rotary Club of Siena.

1962-1964: He occupied the position of Conservatory Director and Permanent Conductor of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Philarmonic Orchestra.

1964-1965: He occupied the position of Permanent Conductor of the Municipal Orchestra of Valencia, teacher of Ensembles at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia and later occupied, temporarily, the Chair of Orchestral Conducting.

1966-1984: He occupied the position of Permanent Conductor, by competitive examination, of the R.T.V.E. Symphony Orchestra.

1967: He was awarded the First Prize and Gold Medal at the "Dimitri Mitropoulos" International Conducting Competition in New York, which earn him the position of Assistant Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington D.C. for the season 1967-1968.

He was awarded the "Best Orchestra Conductor" Prize of the Madrid opera season at the Zarzuela Theatre for his interpretation of the opera "Werther" by Jules Massenet, sung by tenor Alfredo Kraus.
